Job Description

Responsible for maintaining, repairing, monitoring and adjusting of all ammonia refrigeration equipment in order to keep a safe work environment as well as minimize down time. Must have basic knowledge of ammonia refrigeration process and system. Works with all production personnel on air-flow issues. Communicates issues, concerns of refrigeration system to Refrigeration Manager or Maintenance Manager. Follows safety rules; identifies and corrects safety hazards. Be familiar and practice Lock out/Tag out safety procedures on a daily basis. Comply with written plant policies. Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies. Coordinates all refrigeration activities with departments to ensure that all production and quality goals are met and to solve production and personnel problems. Performs other jobs as assigned by the Refrigeration Manager. Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.
Abnormal situation would be:
Product tampering Willful product adulteration Unauthorized employees in restricted areas Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake
Supervision:
Works under the general supervision of the Refrigeration Manager and indirectly to the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications:
Three to five years' experience in refrigeration or maintenance. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to work under pressure. Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with all departments. Standing/walking most of the workday. Capable of going to any area of the plant. Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
