Child Nutrition Services Supervisor SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Services Supervisor, the Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medium and low temperature refrigeration systems and commercial kitchen equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted meal service across Roosevelt School District sites.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of medium- and low-temperature refrigeration systems and commercial kitchen equipment based on written work orders. 2. Communicate with kitchen staff regarding equipment status and timelines. 3. Coordinate with immediate supervisor(s) to provide updates on work order progress. 4. Accurately complete work orders, service documentation, and related paperwork in a timely manner. 5. Maintain assigned service vehicle in a clean, organized, and properly stocked condition. 6. Assist other district personnel as needed to support maintenance and operational activities. 7. Maintain compliance with applicable health and safety requirements. 8. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. 9. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalency required.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Arizona driver's license, or ability to obtain one. EPA-approved Proper Refrigerant Usage Certification (Type I and Type II).EXPERIENCE
Minimum four (4) years of experience in medium and low temperature refrigeration. Minimum two (2) years of mechanical training and trade-related schooling.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
Knowledge of health and safety code requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. Working knowledge of industry-standard refrigerants, plumbing, steam, and electrical trades. Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and work from ladders or lifts up to 40 feet. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.WORK CONDITIONS
Work across multiple school kitchens, cafeterias, and storage areas. Duties are performed in both indoor and occasional outdoor environments, including exposure to hot kitchen equipment (ovens, steamers) and cold conditions (walk-in refrigerators/freezers). Position requires frequent travel between sites.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month year, Classified Hourly Salary Schedule, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.EVALUATION
