POSITION SUMMARY
Refrigeration Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Technicians will be able to identify and resolve equipment problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Improve, repair, rebuild and perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC/R equipment as well as all plant auxiliary systems connected to HVAC/R systems Perform pipe fitting, welding, and trouble shoot electrical control circuits. Dismantle, inspect, and fix various type of filter compressors, Carrier, Copeland, York, Frick, and Trane Rebuild pumps, valves, and blowers. Make repairs to systems by changing motors, replace bearings, belts, filter and charge refrigeration systems Work closely with lead mechanic and supervisor, keeping them informed of maintenance activities, progress of jobs, issues and concerns Perform daily activities including PM's, Emergency Repair and Corrective Maintenance work Work with manufacturing departments to coordinate work as needed and must be responsive to critical manufacturing needs in a timely manner. Proactively perform diagnostic beyond basic PM's to identify possible source of system problems Follow SOP, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, job plans and/or equipment manuals to perform w\ Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document work activities Adhere to cGMP, Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance procedures Assist with modification, installation and start up of new and existing HVAC equipment
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Assume responsibilities of team leader during the absence of team leader and/ or supervisor Associates degree in a relevant technical field. 6 years of related industrial or commercial experience in maintenance of HVAC / Refrigeration equipment, preferably in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA regulated environment. Universal Refrigeration Certification is required. Responsible for providing training to entry level technicians Strong understanding in low and medium temperature Refrigeration & Air Conditioning applications, and repair/ maintenance of HVAC / Refrigeration systems. Decent understanding of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and industry guidelines. Skilled in soldering or brazing pipe/tubing fittings. Skilled in using tools and equipment used in the HVAC / Refrigeration field. Skilled in repairing and rebuilding machinery or mechanical equipment. Skilled in troubleshooting, identifying and resolving equipment problems. Demonstrate decent mechanical aptitude. Skilled in reading and understanding mechanical and electrical drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) drawings and schematics. Solid knowledge of safe and proper use of hand, power and measuring tools, as well as basic shop equipment. Skilled in reading and interpreting equipment performance data. Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail. Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment. Strong multi-tasking skill and can effectively prioritize, manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines. Comfortable in interacting with personnel at all levels in a team environment. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Basic computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Specific experience with
SAP & AMMS
is preferred. Must be flexible with working hours / shifts in order to accommodate the 24 hour, 7 day plant operation. The estimated pay scale for Refrigeration Technician III role based in California, is $43-$55 per hour. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool.
