Job Purpose:

The Refrigeration Ice Machine Technician 2 is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of Scientific refrigerators and ice machines for hospitals, universities, research centers and clinics primarily across the Los Angeles County area. The selected candidate will performing the following essential job functions:

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Perform field routine maintenance, diagnose, troubleshoot and/or repair medical grade / scientific refrigerators, ice makers, walk-in coolers, freezers, and other related equipment. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills and ability to read diagrams and schematics. Perform manufacturer's suggested monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual preventive maintenance checks. Communicate with manufacturers as needed to help with diagnosis and parts identification. Execute accurate, detailed reporting and documentation of service visits and repairs via company phone and software within the outlined timeframe. Other duties as assigned (Assisting with service calls, deliveries, etc.) Consult with Service Manager for technical support/guidance while onsite as needed. Able to adhere to company and client site safe work practices. Consistently maintain productivity and service levels in accordance with company standards.

Required Education & Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of experience as a Refrigeration/Ice Machine/Walk-In's repair and maintenance technician specifically focusing on hospital, clinic refrigeration/ultra low temperature equipment Ability to read and understand service manuals/schematics High school diploma or equivalent qualification Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques Effective problem-solving abilities Must be dependable and have strong work ethic Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks Driver's license with a good driving record Professional appearance and demeanor

Self-Motivated Flexible Preferred Education & Qualifications:

Trade school or industry related certification Cascade refrigeration repair experience

None Work Environment:

Primarily driving to different client locations (hospitals, clinics, labs…etc) throughout the day and performing preventive maintenance, service and/or repair on medical grade ice machines, refrigeration equipment and walk-in's. You will at times need to come to the Shop for parts pick-up, training, meetings and other related items as needed.

Physical Demands:

Lifting up to 60 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop and/or sit for extended periods of time. Total drive time per day of 1 to 3 hours per day.

Expected Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30 (at times will need to be available to work early morning or late evenings). Flexible to work OT when needed.

Travel:

Primarily within the Los Angeles County area.
