This role centers on running, observing, servicing, and repairing industrial ammonia-based cooling units and the machinery tied to them. Daily efforts keep plant output secure and productive through routine inspections, scheduled upkeep, diagnostics, and corrective work that aligns with all safety standards and compliance mandates within a food production setting. Ammonia Refrigeration Mechanic:

Solid mechanical aptitude paired with the ability to rebuild pumps, motors, oilers, and similar components Familiarity with startup sequences for two-stage ammonia cooling setups Comfortable performing duties inside sub-zero, freezer-type work areas and lifting loads near 75 lbs Willing to cover rotating shifts plus extra hours when operations demand it Capable of reading and writing English, with foundational arithmetic skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred Completion of, or readiness to finish, the required RETA coursework leading to Class A certification, along with HazMat instruction (up to 24 hours) Training in Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and Hazard Communication; forklift certification obtainable as needed Responsibilities of the

Ammonia Refrigeration Mechanic:
