Job Overview - Hoodios Hood Cleaning Technician Join the Hoodios Hood Cleaning team and become an essential part of protecting the heart of South Florida's commercial kitchens. As a Hoodios Hood Cleaning Technician , you'll help maintain safe, fire-compliant, and spotless kitchen exhaust systems for restaurants, hotels, caterers, and luxury residential clients. Your work directly prevents grease-fires, ensures NFPA-96 compliance, and keeps professional kitchens running at peak efficiency. This hands-on, high-energy role involves cleaning kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, fans, and related equipment using industry-standard tools, pressure washers, and degreasers. You'll take pride in transforming greasy systems into safe, polished, inspection-ready equipment — all while working with a supportive team that values your growth, safety, and hard work. ResponsibilitiesHood Cleaning & Kitchen Exhaust Maintenance Perform full NFPA-96 standard hood, duct, and exhaust fan cleaning for commercial and residential clients. Apply degreasers, scrape heavy grease, pressure wash surfaces, and polish stainless steel to leave every system spotless. Set up and break down job sites, including taping, tenting, bagging, and protecting kitchen equipment. Safely operate pressure washers, surface sprayers, scrapers, and lift equipment when required. Install and remove fan hinges, access panels, and grease containment systems as needed. Safety & Compliance Follow strict safety procedures when working on roofs, ladders, lifts, and slippery surfaces. Ensure every job meets Hoodios' standards and all NFPA-96 fire safety requirements. Identify and document fire hazards, damaged parts, or compliance issues for the client. Documentation & Reporting Take detailed before-and-after photos of all hoods, ducts, and fans. Complete service reports, job checklists, and apply certification stickers accurately. Keep logs of materials used, job duration, and any recommended repairs. Customer Interaction & Teamwork Maintain a friendly, respectful, and professional presence on job sites. Communicate clearly with team leads, supervisors, and clients as needed. Support your crew by assisting with ladders, hoses, setup, cleanup, and workflow. Demonstrate leadership when onboarding new team members or guiding helpers. QualificationsPreferred Experience Prior hood cleaning required . Experience in janitorial services, HVAC, roofing, construction, or maintenance trades is beneficial. Skills & Abilities Comfortable working late nights or early mornings (most kitchens prefer off-hours service). Ability to lift 50+ lbs., work on roofs, and handle physical labor in hot and greasy environments. Strong attention to detail — especially with safety, cleaning quality, and photo documentation. Basic mechanical aptitude (fans, belts, hinges) is helpful but not mandatory. Capable of following instructions, reading service checklists, and handling equipment responsibly. Good communication skills and a team-player mindset.
