Refrigeration Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and HVAC systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and related mechanical equipment. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical components such as boilers, pumps, compressors, and piping systems. Utilize testing tools such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and ensure system integrity. Conduct field service visits to client sites for appliance repair, property maintenance, or equipment upgrades. Weld or perform mechanical repairs on metal components using appropriate techniques and safety procedures. Maintain detailed service records, work logs, and reports documenting all repairs and inspections performed. Skills Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC design principles, electrical basics, and mechanical systems. Proven experience as a service technician with a focus on HVAC/R or appliance repair. Ability to read schematics accurately and apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot complex systems. Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and property maintenance. Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and safety protocols associated with high-pressure refrigerants. Experience in field service environments with excellent problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record preferred. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks combined with a passion for technical excellence.
