Chiller Technician

Chiller Technician Experience Level:

Senior (15+ years preferred) Key Responsibilities Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of: Centrifugal, screw, scroll, and absorption chillers Air-cooled and water-cooled systems Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues Conduct start-ups, commissioning, and performance testing Read and interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control schematics Perform oil analysis, vibration analysis, and refrigerant management Work with BAS/BMS systems (e.g., Trane Tracer, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens, etc.) Lead major repairs including compressor rebuilds and tube replacements Ensure compliance with safety regulations, EPA standards, and company procedures Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians Communicate clearly with customers, facility managers, and project teams Complete accurate service documentation and reports Qualifications 15+ years of hands-on chiller experience in commercial or industrial settings EPA Universal Certification Advanced knowledge of refrigeration theory and HVAC controls Ability to troubleshoot high-voltage electrical systems Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be willing to help train other team members Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and occasional overtime Leadership or supervisory experience
