We originated as a small fish processor in New Bedford Harbor back in 2002, but now operate plants in New Bedford, MA, and Hazle Township, PA, where we process seafood and meat products. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide refrigeration service, including monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of the ammonia system. Including all areas pertaining to the upkeep and efficient operation of all systems (compressors, condensers, fans, pumps, spiral chillers, spiral freezers and all other cooling and freezing systems). Manage and work on preventive maintenance programs to help improve performance, reduce refrigerant loss, and control expenses. Respond to emergency calls during regular and off working hours. Daily communication of all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to department head and maintenance team.Secondary Responsibilities:
Monitor system to ensure all systems are functioning correctly Monitor leak detection system Conduct required inspections and reporting through temperature monitoring and control. Evaluate and report equipment condition. Service all refrigeration equipment and systems in the facility Troubleshoot all associated equipment Fine tune equipment and controls to optimize energy savings Provide documentation for EPA compliance records Provide support to the PSM program Order repair parts and maintain adequate supply of refrigerant Follow up on service contracts for water treatment systems, and condenser cleaning Maintain housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration engine rooms daily Assist in managing outside mechanical and refrigeration contractors conducting service, repair and new contract work. Perform upgrades to refrigerated warehouse space with the Maintenance/Engineering team. Maintain existing warehousing & production facilities. Inspect and repair machinery as well as facility systems like electrical and plumbing. Welding repairing parts or systems. Assist in maintenance of company vehicles. Coordinate project status with supervision to prevent unplanned production downtime. Ability to follow plans for repair and maintenance Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, sanders in the set up and fitting for welding or in finishing of welds. Physically capable of lifting as much as 100 pounds, and carrying 50 pounds Must demonstrate strong problem-solving ability Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. Effective problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize task High school diploma or GED Previous experience in facility/factory maintenance, including with conveyor belts. Education and/or Experience Preferred Operator 1-3 EPA 608 EPA 601 Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
