Maintenance Staff Cedarwood Plaza - 3.0 Cleveland Heights, OH Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Equipment calibration Equipment troubleshooting Driver's License HVAC system repair Full Job Description Maintenance Assistant We're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support building systems and resident safety in our Long Term Care community. The ideal candidate brings strong HVAC and plumbing skills, a proactive approach to life safety compliance, and strong critical thinking to solve issues quickly.
Key Responsibilities HVAC:
Maintain and troubleshoot RTUs, boilers, and set up temporary heating/cooling solutions during outages or emergencies.
Plumbing:
Maintain hot water systems, mixing valves, and water temperatures; troubleshoot toilets/flush valves, floor drains, and grease traps.
Life Safety Compliance:
Support fire/life safety systems (e.g., drills, extinguishers, egress, emergency lighting) and documentation per regulatory standards.
Preventative Maintenance:
Execute PM schedules for building systems and equipment; track work orders and parts.
General Maintenance:
Minor electrical, carpentry, painting, and grounds as needed; vendor coordination and escorting.
Qualifications Experience:
2-3+ years in facility maintenance; healthcare/LTC/senior living preferred.
Technical:
HVAC and plumbing troubleshooting; boilers, RTUs, hot water loops, mixing valve calibration.
Compliance:
Familiarity with life safety and environmental standards for healthcare settings.
Soft Skills:
Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, urgency, and communication. Nice to
Have:
Boiler license, EPA 608, basic electrical knowledge.
Other:
Valid driver's license; ability to pass background and pre-employment checks. Physical & Work Conditions Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.; frequent walking, bending, and ladder work. Work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and tight spaces; occasional after-hours/on call support.
