Journeyman Service Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC/R systems and ammonia refrigeration, with the ability to read and interpret schematics. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. Duties Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to ensure efficiency and reliability. Utilize tools such as an Ohmmeter to test electrical components and diagnose problems. Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and wiring configurations. Assist in building and installing new refrigeration systems as needed. Operate a van to transport tools and equipment to job sites safely. Communicate effectively with clients regarding service needs, repairs, and maintenance schedules. Skills Proficiency in HVAC/R systems, with a focus on ammonia refrigeration. Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately. Experience in maintaining various types of refrigeration equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills with the capability to use diagnostic tools like an Ohmmeter. Valid driver's license with experience as a van driver for transporting equipment. Knowledge of boiling points and refrigerant properties related to HVAC/R applications. Excellent communication skills for client interactions and teamwork within the service department.
