Obtain Contact Information Job Summary Job Summary Facility Maintenance Assistant is responsible for monitoring the refrigeration system operation, identifying system failures or potential failures, maintain periodic logs as required by various programs, perform repairs on refrigeration system after approval by Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering, monitor the upkeep of the facility, and participate in daily activities that contribute to a well maintained facility.
Must have:
The person must have previous industrial experience. Heavy emphasis on refrigeration. Electrical exposure to 480V and PLC controls. Refrigeration System Maintenance Additional experience Logix program experience preferredPMS systems experience preferredPrior work with ammonia preferredMechanically minded 1 year exp required - will train and certify the right candidate as long as they have some prior refrigeration technician experience. No college degree required Compare physical observations to control (Hench & Logix) readouts Weekend coverage when necessary. If schedule does not allow for weekend or daily coverage, coordinate with Director of Operations and/or Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering for alternative coverage. Record ammonia levels and system readouts (engine room logs). Visually inspect all evaporators Clean evaporators if airflow is compromised more than 10%. Participate in periodic maintenance of refrigeration system. Facility Maintenance Remove ice buildup from vestibule floors Walk entire facility (inside & outside) no less than once weekly. Record items to be repaired in Maintenance Log. If immediate repair is required, report to Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering and initiate repair. Specific items to check: & #9642; Dock levelers and lights. & #9642; Freezer doors: seal, safety edges, flashing, vestibule integrity, and locks. & #9642;
Lights:
Record light outages on lighting audit map. Replace as soon as practical. & #9642; Overhead doors. Check tunnel fans and air flow conduit. Report and clean rodent/bird activity. Report any evidence of trespassing. Grounds maintenance as necessary, including Mowing Landscape irrigation operation (including winterizing). Janitorial Maintain adequate amounts of restroom supplies in all restrooms. Fire System Monthly system checks PI Valves Riser sheds for accessibility and system functionality. Log water and air pressure for each unit. Primary contact for Alarm Central Station calls. Initiate response upon contact from ACS. REV 3 Report alarm response and situation to Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering as soon as appropriate/possible. If schedule does not allow for response, coordinate alternative coverage with Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering Safety & #9642; Understand and participate in all relevant safety programs. Reporting Summary tasks completed and review of upcoming projects should be reviewed with Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering daily.
