A successful Startup & Warranty Supervisor at Berger is skilled at assisting, supervising, and scheduling difficult technical commercial HVAC installations, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. A successful candidate for this role is someone who thrives when their work depends on motivating and leading others. As an established HVAC construction and service operation that provides commissioning assistance, start-up and warranty support we're one in a million.
Responsibilities:
Team leadership and mentorship Provide technical assistance to field technicians Collaborate with project managers and manufactures to schedule equipment startup Verify other trade requirements prior to scheduling technician for start up Review equipment submittals in preparation for proper start up procedures Quality and safety assurance
  • conduct onsite inspections to verify installation and repairs meet company standards Attend and participate in meetings regarding project start ups Attend and assign technician training classes Conduct service technician monthly meetings Technician evaluations
  • implement improvement plans Collaborate with fleet manager on service vehicle needs Determine company tools and parts stock needs Engage vendors for warranty claims
  • address paperwork requirements Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in commercial HVAC installation, repairs, maintenance Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, manuals and schematics Comprehensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work Ability to plan, lay out, supervise, and inspect work of subordinates Knowledge of energy management systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office
  • Word, Excel and Outlook) Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices High school diploma or GED required Trade school preferred
