We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Transport Refrigeration Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of refrigerated transport equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting refrigeration systems on commercial transport vehicles. Your expertise will keep perishable goods fresh and transportation running smoothly, contributing to our commitment to reliable logistics and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanically inclined professionals with a passion for refrigeration, HVAC systems, and field service work. Duties Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on transport refrigeration units, including ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R equipment. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify root causes efficiently. Conduct maintenance on refrigeration components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and thermostats to ensure optimal performance. Install, modify, and upgrade refrigeration systems in accordance with safety standards and technical specifications. Utilize HVAC design principles and plumbing knowledge to troubleshoot complex system failures and implement effective solutions. Document all service activities thoroughly in maintenance logs and reports; communicate findings clearly to team members and clients. Support property maintenance tasks related to refrigeration equipment, including welding repairs or boiler servicing as needed. Qualifications Preferred experience with thermo-king or Carrier refrigeration units Proven experience as a service technician in refrigeration, HVAC, or mechanical systems within construction or field service environments. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design concepts, plumbing systems, and ammonia refrigeration technology. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in appliance repair, equipment repair, welding, and boiler maintenance. Familiarity with property maintenance practices including air conditioning systems and general mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively; experience with electrical wiring is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles is advantageous. Demonstrated mechanic experience with a focus on refrigeration units or HVAC/R systems; certification in HVAC/R is a plus. Excellent field service skills with the ability to work independently in diverse environments while adhering to safety protocols.
