Overview The Mail Services Technician assist in providing timely and accurate Campus-wide mail services by accepting, sorting, processing, and delivering mail to service the University's students, employees, offices, and campus community. Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
Assistance with special projects
Seasonal work
Emergencies

Assist in processing incoming and outgoing University mail by sorting various types of mail and operating a postage meter and other mail processing equipment.
Picks and delivers mail along with a prescribed route on the University campus.
Drives vehicles on delivery and on routes as needed.
Assists students, faculty, or staff with standard mail-related issues such as assigning mailboxes, keys, and cards, collecting and providing information, selling supplies, facilitating student package pickup, and answering common questions.
Supports billing information recording to allocate mail charges to departments properly.
Completes administrative duties such as maintaining records and forms, labeling mailboxes, and completing documentation of activities.
May pick up and deliver mail to the U.S. Postal Service. May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
