You're the kind of person who notices when something is off, fixes it before anyone else catches it, and moves on to the next task without being asked. You want to work with your hands, build things that last, and represent a company you're proud to show up for. You haven't always found a team that matches your standard for quality, but you haven't stopped looking. If that sounds like you, we should talk. Forward Tilt is looking for a Service Technician who brings craftsmanship, professionalism, and ownership to every job site. This is your chance to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team where your skills in the field will directly shape the client experiences our brand is built on. What You'll Do As our Service Technician, you'll be the person in the field making it all come together—installing commercial office furniture in our studio and at client sites, and ensuring every job reflects Forward Tilt's standard of excellence.
You will:
Champion a positive, memorable client experience and reinforce Forward Tilt's culture of delivering the best experiences clients have ever had. Install and assemble commercial office furniture in our studio and at client sites, including systems furniture, case goods, accessories, and wall-hung systems. Complete assigned installation tasks on time and to Forward Tilt's quality and workmanship standards. Handle furniture and equipment with care, ensuring product is delivered and installed without damage. Inspect completed installations for accuracy and quality before client sign-off. Communicate professionally with clients on-site, addressing questions and ensuring satisfaction throughout the installation process. Report punch list items, product discrepancies, or site issues to the Project Manager promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in our studio and at all client sites. Follow all safety protocols and site-specific access requirements at every location. Collaborate with the Project Management team to ensure installations stay on schedule and within scope. Own our on-site storage area, maintaining organization, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy at all times. Schedule and coordinate other Service Technicians' daily delivery and warranty stops to ensure efficient routing and timely completion. What Makes You a Great Fit You'll thrive in this role if you: Execute installations with precision and care, consistently delivering high-quality results. Make sound decisions independently in the field with minimal supervision. Take ownership of assigned tasks and see them through to completion. Lead by example with punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Build positive rapport with clients and teammates on every job site. Stay calm and solution-focused when unexpected challenges arise during an installation. Manage time effectively across multiple tasks and site locations. What You Bring Direct experience with commercial/office furniture installation projects. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to drive a company vehicle when required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and safely climb ladders. Working proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel. A self-starter mentality with the ability to learn quickly and adapt on-site. Prior experience with systems furniture, case goods, and wall-hung systems is a strong plus. Why Forward Tilt? Forward Tilt is a leader in the commercial furnishings industry, dedicated to creating spaces that meet the needs of the modern worker. Our client-focused approach is evident in every customized space we create and in every team member we hire. We value curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration, knowing that our organization flourishes when employees are engaged and supported. High performers in this role have clear paths into lead technician and project management opportunities. If you're a skilled, dependable professional who takes pride in the quality of your work and wants to be part of a team that holds itself to the same standard, this could be your next chapter.
