This position works closely with the Service Estimator and Service Manager to safely execute repair work, document roof conditions, and provide customers with high-quality service experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service & Repair Operations Perform commercial and residential roofing repairs. Respond to leak investigations and emergency service calls. Complete preventative maintenance services and roof inspections. Perform repairs on a variety of roofing systems including:
TPO EPDM PVC
Modified Bitumen Built-Up Roofing (BUR) Metal Roofing Systems Roof Coatings Shingle Roofing Systems Tile Roofing Systems Follow manufacturer specifications and company quality standards. Inspection & Documentation Conduct roof inspections and identify deficiencies, damage, and maintenance needs. Take clear photographs before, during, and after repairs. Document repair activities and roof conditions accurately. Provide detailed field notes and recommendations to Service Estimators. Assist in identifying additional repair or maintenance opportunities for customers. Project Coordination Review repair scopes and work orders with Service Estimators & Coordinators prior to mobilization. Verify materials, equipment, and safety requirements before beginning work. Communicate project progress and field conditions to management. Participate in post-job reviews to ensure scope completion and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate daily reports and time records. Customer Service Represent Black Roofing & Waterproofing professionally at all times. Communicate courteously and effectively with customers and building occupants. Answer basic questions regarding repair procedures and project status. Help build customer confidence through professionalism and quality workmanship. Maintain positive relationships that encourage repeat business. Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct jobsite hazard assessments before beginning work. Properly utilize fall protection and personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately. Equipment & Vehicle Care Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition. Perform routine inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment. Report maintenance or repair needs promptly. Ensure company assets are properly secured and protected. Qualifications Experience Minimum 3 years of commercial roofing experience preferred. Service repair experience. Experience troubleshooting and repairing roof leaks. Technical Skills Knowledge of commercial and residential roofing systems. Ability to diagnose roofing failures and recommend repair solutions. Ability to safely operate roofing tools and equipment. Understanding of roofing materials, flashing details, and waterproofing principles. General knowledge of commercial and residential building construction systems. General knowledge of metal wall panel systems. Skills & Abilities Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and documentation. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and bend for extended periods. Requirements Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. OSHA 10 Certification preferred. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Must pass background screening, drug screening, and MVR review.
