  • Commercial Doors Position Overview We are seeking a meticulous Detailer
  • Commercial Doors to produce accurate shop drawings, hardware schedules and fabrication details for Division 8 openings.
The ideal candidate will translate architectural specifications into detailed door, frame and hardware documentation, coordinate with project teams and fabricators, and ensure compliance with project requirements, codes and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed shop drawings, door and frame details, and hardware schedules for commercial door systems in accordance with Division 8 specifications. Translate architectural plans and specifications into clear, coordinated shop drawings and markups for fabrication and installation. Select and specify door hardware and accessories; create comprehensive hardware schedules and product lists compatible with project requirements. Coordinate with architects, general contractors, suppliers and installers to resolve design issues, clarify requirements and ensure constructability. Review contract documents and Division 8 specifications to verify compliance and identify conflicts or missing information. Use detailing and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam) and door/hardware scheduling tools to produce and manage documentation; maintain drawing file standards and revisions. Support estimating and procurement teams by providing takeoffs, material lists and clarification on scope related to doors and hardware. Participate in shop drawing reviews, site visits, and mock-ups as required to validate details and support the installation team. Qualifications 2+ years of detailing experience focused on commercial doors, frames, and hardware (Division 8 experience strongly preferred). Strong understanding of Division 8 specifications, door types, frame construction, etc. Excellent reading and interpretation of architectural and structural drawings, shop drawings and specifications. Strong communication and coordination skills to interact effectively with architects, contractors, vendors and internal teams. Detail-oriented with strong organization skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Benefits Health Insurance
