Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Position Purpose:
The Service Technician is responsible for the removal, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and reinstallation of customer pump systems and related equipment. This role supports and services our customers, projects and supplier partners in compliance with company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Remove, repair, and reinstall customer pumps and equipment. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on customer equipment and systems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, evaluate, and repair pumps, motors, and related equipment. Read and interpret exploded views, O&M manuals, and parts lists from pump manufacturers. Document work orders, including pump and motor details, cause of failure, parts required, and problem descriptions. Repair or replace mechanical seals, bearings, shafts, wear rings, O-rings, gaskets, and impellers. Clean rotating equipment parts using methods such as parts washers and sand blasters. Work with electrical systems including 120VAC, 240VAC, and 440VAC single- and multi-phase power. Operate, program, repair, and replace Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Safely operate shop tools, testing equipment, and specialized repair equipment. Record service and design data to ensure expected performance outcomes. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Participate in manufacturer pump training courses. Maintain a clean and organized worksite. Assist other mechanics and departments with skilled and non-skilled duties as directed by the Service Manager.

Regular travel to customer job sites within assigned service areas.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks associated with equipment repair and installation.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in shop environments and at various customer job sites. Exposure to mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and outdoor conditions as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate required equipment. Basic math skills, including fractions. Basic knowledge of pumps and electrical equipment. Valid driver's license. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience servicing pumps, motors, and related equipment. Experience working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
None Minimum Years of Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or as deemed sufficient by management.
