Service Technician Job Description This role focuses on building and outfitting temporary office units commonly used at construction sites. You will assemble the structures themselves and install interior furnishings such as desks, chairs, and other items requested by customers. The position suits mechanically inclined construction professionals who enjoy hands-on work with tools and take pride in producing safe, functional, and well-finished units. Responsibilities Build temporary office units from the ground up within a facility, following construction plans and quality standards. Assemble and install interior components such as desks, chairs, and other fixtures based on customer requirements. Perform framing and carpentry work to construct walls, floors, and other structural elements of the units. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, fasten, assemble, and finish materials. Assist with basic installation or support tasks related to HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems when applicable and within skill level. Work both inside the facility and outside as needed to complete builds, setups, or adjustments on units. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment. Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and ensure units are completed on time. Inspect completed work for accuracy, structural integrity, and overall quality before units are delivered or deployed. Adapt to varying tasks and assignments, understanding that trade-specific work (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) may not be performed every day. Essential Skills Previous construction experience with a focus on framing and carpentry. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a construction or fabrication environment. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read, follow, and execute build instructions. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required by project needs. Capability to assemble structures and interior furnishings with attention to detail and safety. Commitment to safe work practices and consistent use of personal protective equipment. Reliability and willingness to work a full-time schedule with occasional overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC trades is a strong plus. Comfort working in a production-style environment building repeated unit types. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and workloads, including occasional Saturdays. Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate tasks with other technicians. Basic understanding of how HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems integrate into modular units. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based primarily in a covered indoor facility where you will spend approximately 85% of your time, with about 15% of work performed outside. The work area is kept clean and organized, supporting safe and efficient construction activities. Current hours are Monday through Friday, typically around 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a high volume of overtime available. At present, employees work about 50 hours per week, with the expectation that this will reduce to roughly 45 hours per week once the team is fully staffed. You should be open to overtime and occasional Saturday work as needed. The dress code consists of practical work clothes such as jeans and a T-shirt, along with steel-toed shoes. Additional personal protective equipment is provided by the employer to ensure your safety on the job. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
