Hour Position Overview:
Seeking a Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair loading dock equipment, overhead doors, and specialty lift systems at customer facilities throughout the region. This is a direct hire opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys working independently, solving technical challenges, and providing exceptional customer service in a field-based environment. Service Technician:
As a Service Technician, you'll travel to customer locations in a company-provided service vehicle to perform equipment installations, maintenance, inspections, and repairs. You'll serve as a technical resource for customers while ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and according to manufacturer specifications.
Service Technician Duties Include:
Installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing loading dock equipment, overhead doors, and specialty lifts Conducting equipment testing and making adjustments to ensure proper operation Performing preventative maintenance and equipment inspections Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues Disassembling and reassembling equipment for repair and maintenance purposes Identifying unsafe equipment conditions and implementing proper safety procedures, including red-tagging equipment when necessary Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Responding to customer questions and providing technical support on equipment operation and service needs Planning and facilitating equipment installations and repair projects Maintaining an organized work environment and service vehicle Working independently or as part of a small field service team Following all company safety standards and customer site requirements
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in field service, maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical work, industrial maintenance, or related technical fields preferred Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes of issues Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and technologies Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Customer-facing experience preferred Technical certifications such as OSHA, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial certifications are a plus Previous experience with loading dock equipment, overhead doors, lifts, or similar industrial equipment is beneficial but not required Training will be provided for motivated candidates with strong mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, stretch, push, and pull for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Visual acuity to inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment components Manual dexterity required to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and service equipment Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment
Additional Requirements:
Must successfully pass a drug screening Must pass a DOT physical including audiogram testing Must pass a background check
