JOB TITLE
Service Technician - In-House
JOB CLASSIFICATION

Shop Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the daily functions related to inspections, maintenance, and repair of turf and professional mowing equipment, used for golf courses, resorts, and athletic fields. This individual will perform all duties per Revels policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(including, but not limited to): Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology Consult equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts Diagnose and identify malfunctions using computerized tools and equipment Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems Dissemble and reassemble equipment and components Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on-time submittal of information May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(including, but not limited to): Other duties as requested/assigned Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge High School diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding required One year of familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures preferred Formal vocational or post-secondary training in diesel technology or equipment mechanics preferred Experience working cooperatively in a team environment Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to complete various activities in the shop that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying, bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time
WORKING CONDITIONS
Service Technicians usually work indoors in a noisy shop environment. They often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
