Job Description
Fitzsimmons Hospital Services is currently seeking a Service Technician to join the Mundelein, IL team! The right candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and the ability to follow manufacturer and company procedures to maintain our high standards and quality of service. Technicians are expected to use their technical troubleshooting skills to effectively diagnose problems, repair, and calibrate equipment within operating specifications per the manufacturer's service manual. Normal business hours of operations are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m .
Job Duties:
Perform product maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of equipment at company location, as well as in the field. Maintain hospital beds, wheelchairs, care chairs and other durable medical equipment. Clear and knowledgeable ability to understand and operate basic electronic test equipment. Participate in all equipment cleaning and disinfection processes as defined by management. Ensure the service area in clean and orderly, providing a safe environment for service personnel. Ensure accuracy when entering product details into database and reporting. Meet production goals set for the department location. Provide technical support in-person or over the phone. After training period, assist with mentoring and training other technicians. Participate in the delivery distribution on-call, after-hours rotation, and expected to work overtime with short notice. Communicates promptly to operations manager, facility contacts, and customer service department in a timely manner to ensure prompt delivery updates are given in timely fashion. Shows respect and promotes excellent customer service skills for our customers and vendors. Promotes and ensures safe techniques are utilized in all aspects of the job and the workplace. Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Associate Degree in an electronic field, preferably biomedical, or a combination of education and experience. Electronic repair, Durable medical equipment, or biomedical experience preferred. Valid driver license. Satisfactory completion of background check, DOT physical, and drug screening. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate required for driving a company vehicle throughout employment. Must be able to lift 75 pounds regularly for loading and unloading medical equipment and supplies into company vehicles. Must be insurable on the company's vehicle insurance policy.Skills:
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel promptly. Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions. Strong organization and time management skills. Professionalism and mature sense of accountability. Ability to read maps, utilize GPS applications, and determine best possible driving routes.Abilities:
Ability to handle large and or heavy objects as part of the daily routine. Ability to work closely and professionally with other members of the FHS team as well as our customers and Customer Service Team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly. Ability to communicate clearly in writing. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to remain professional even in high stress situations that may include a co-worker, customer, or patient. Ability to work under pressure with positive attitude. Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results.
