Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced highly skilled Service Technician to join our team in maintaining and repairing diesel and gasoline powered construction equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of industrial systems, including hydraulics, electrical components, and mechanical machinery. As a Ditch Witch of South Louisiana Service Technician, you will be the frontline expert ensuring optimal operation of complex equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and maximizing our customer "up time". Responsibilities Perform, repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel & gasoline powered construction equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines to include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. Utilize hand tools in the repair and maintenance of equipment. Utilize manufacturer electronic diagnostic tools and programs in troubleshooting. Read schematics and technical publications. Perform tasks in shop or at customers jobsites. Complete equipment inspection. Install and Remove attachments. Wash and clean equipment as needed Make recommendations regarding repair or replacement of components. Attend manufacturer training classes. Record work performed in detail on service reports, typed and written. Communicate with Service Manager, Service Administrator and Service Coordinator. Submit detailed inspection forms as required. Must be able to lift 75 lbs safety daily. Must be able to work scheduled hours and overtime Qualifications Must possess own tools High School Diploma or GED required, tech School or OEM Training - equivalent experience a plus. Experience in Construction Equipment Technology (minimum of 3 years working experience), Electronics, Hydraulics, Diesel & Gas Engine. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience in industrial settings. Strong electrical, hydraulic, mechanical skills, multi meters and test equipment. Good communication skills. A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions. Basic computer skills are essential. Welding certification and fabrication experience is a plus. Knowledge of industrial maintenance and safety procedures including proper use of PPE. Excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting complex machinery issues promptly. Valid industrial electrician experience or relevant technical training; military background is advantageous. Fluency in English with strong customer service skills for engaging with clients and team members professionally. Must have safe driving history and ability to drive company service truck.
