Job Description

GLO Resources is hiring a Fiberglass Repair Technician in Port Allen, LA . The pay range is between $16-$17/hr, experience dependent. This is a full-time day shift position, typically working 8-10 hour days, with weekend work required as needed. Position Summary The Fiberglass Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining barges in clean, safe, and working condition by performing fiberglass repairs, patches, and inspections. This role ensures that barges remain reliable and operational by identifying issues, completing necessary repairs, and communicating repair needs with the barge maintenance team. Key Responsibilities Perform temporary and permanent fiberglass repairs on barges. Inspect barges to identify damage, wear, or maintenance needs. Perform preventative maintenance on barge equipment. Board vessels and walk barges to conduct inspections and assess repair needs. Communicate repair scope and findings to the barge maintenance team. Ensure repairs meet company safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures while working around water and equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1 year of experience in barge repair or shipyard work is preferred Experience with fiberglass repair techniques preferred. Knowledge of marine or barge maintenance practices is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Ability to bend, kneel, sit, and perform physically demanding work. Ability to board vessels and walk on barges safely. Comfortable working around water and in marine environments.
