Technician

Job Description We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to work at our auction site, responsible for scanning and identifying vehicle inventory for open recalls and performing recall repair work on listed and approved vehicles. You will be using provided lists to complete repairs with available parts and following recall documents to ensure safe and proper completion. You will also be responsible for uploading necessary documentation and maintaining a professional attitude with team members and external personnel. Responsibilities Scan and identify vehicle inventory at the auction for open recalls. Perform recall repair work on listed and approved vehicles at the auction. Complete recall repair tasks using provided parts and lists. Follow recall documents to ensure proper and safe repair completion. Submit recall work as a job in Autoleap, including necessary information and media. Upload photos of receipts into the Bill Pay app for expenses. Maintain a courteous and professional attitude with team members and external clients. Organize and secure parts in the work vehicle and storage unit. Return cores in their original packaging back to the MRS hub. Request parts using the current process, ensuring timely receipt. Adhere to auction guidelines, safety protocols, and directives. Set and communicate a weekly schedule to the logistics coordinator or management. Train onsite with a trainer for 2-3 weeks. Essential Skills Mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Experience with hand tools and diagnostic testing. Mechanical aptitude. 2+ years of experience in installation or service trade. Valid Driver's License - Real ID. Familiarity with computer software (CMMS or Microsoft Office). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using basic hand tools. Own computer or tablet for training purposes. Willingness to work outdoors all day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carleton, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
