Trim Sewer Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Trim Sewer Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan. Overview The position involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality sewn products. The role requires executing project tasks independently and collaborating with team members and customers to meet performance and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate and maintain sewing machines and related components, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, and automatic cutting tools. Read and interpret work orders, selecting fabric, thread, and needles, and adjusting machine settings accordingly. Inspect finished products, perform repairs as needed, and make machine adjustments to address errors or quality issues. Record materials used, maintenance performed, and completed pieces accurately during each shift. Attach elastic, zippers, buttons, and other trimmings to sewn pieces based on work order instructions and diagrams. Troubleshoot basic machinery problems and request maintenance or repairs when necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 4 years of industrial sewing experience Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English Good verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing Experience working with Juki sewing machines Good attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team We thank all applicants for their interest.
