Purpose of the position
Purpose of the Position
The Service Technician is responsible for performing spindle mechanical repairs and calibrations. The role also includes testing and repairing electronic devices, printed circuit boards, and assemblies, as well as conducting receiving inspections of specified electronic components.
Your typical day
Main Tasks
Testing and repair spindles and electronic devices including customer and in-house repairs.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic system failures using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
Maintains and performs disassemble and reassemble spindles and recalibration.
Requisitions bench stock and supplies associated with spindle spare parts and other repairs.
Fabricate and/or troubleshoot test fixtures.
Document repairs, maintenance activities, and test results
Recommends improvements in test fixtures, Test Procedures, Product Definitions and new test equipment.
Perform soldering and de-soldering of electronic components (through-hole and surface-mount) for repair and rework
Receiving inspection of specific electronic devices (amplifiers, sensors, etc.).
Physical Requirements able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Performs other duties as assigned
Your profile
Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or Mechatronics (Associate's or bachelor's preferred), or equivalent experience
3 years+ experience in reading electrical and mechanical schematic and testing electronic devices
Experience with mechanical systems (bearings, gears, fasteners, assemblies...etc)
Hands-on experience with soldering and rework of electronic components
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Equivalent training and experience.
