Job Description

DESCRIPTION
Wayne Transports is a family-based, performance-driven trucking company focused on customer service, employee satisfaction, safety and hard work. We haul Asphalt, Ag products, Chemical, Dry Bulk, Petroleum, and Propane. As a service technician you will perform a variety of mechanical repairs to ensure Wayne Transports Trucks and other company vehicles, are running at a high-performance level and are in safe and working condition.
SHIFT:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 - 5:00pm - Occasional Saturday
RESPONSBILITES
Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn damaged parts. Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Conducts safety checks on vehicles. Recognize and complete preventive maintenance schedules. Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate repairs. Maintains vehicle appearance and verifies vehicle performance. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options. Stay update with job skills and latest trends in participating education and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Self-starter, highly motivated, effective problem solver, works with your hands. Methodical and detail-oriented type of person. Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair. Ability to lift Heavy equipment and vehicle parts. 1 year of experience working on diesel engines or technical training in the a service industry is desired. Willing to train any who has the desire to learn despite inexperience. CDL preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing and leaning over extended periods of time Walking Lifting up to 50lbs occasionally Proficiency with hand tools and other equipment #hc232925
