Job Summary:
The Repair Shop Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing valves, pumps, and other small engines. This includes refurbishing used items, accurately diagnosing repair needs, and delivering high-quality repair services for both in-house and customer needs.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a warehouse/industrial retail location. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles in an environment that can range from quiet to loud.
Primary Responsibilities:
Diagnose, refurbish, and repair valves, pumps, and small engines including chainsaws, weed eaters, and similar equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of items that we service, earning additional training credentials as needed. Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the causes of technical problems and provide accurate repair recommendations. Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely. Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records. Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Communicate with personnel from multiple departments to best serve our customers and ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
Experience, Education and Certifications Desired:
High school diploma or equivalent Mechanical skills with knowledge of small engine systems preferred Proficient in using hand tools and power tools STIHL Silver Certification preferred- must be obtained within one year of hire if not qualified.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Good communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods Clean driving record
