In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating various trucks and equipment to sanitize and dispose of waste materials efficiently. Your expertise in mechanical systems, driving skills, and commitment to safety will ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining high standards of service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community cleanliness and environmental sustainability through proactive waste collection and management. Responsibilities Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation), state transportation regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols during daily operations. Drive defensively at all times to ensure the safety of yourself, fellow team members, pedestrians, and other drivers on the road. Manage municipal and commercial waste collection routes efficiently while adhering to schedule deadlines. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, route completion, and any incidents or hazards encountered during service. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate pickups, report issues, or address route adjustments promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on solid waste management or related fields such as delivery driving or dump truck operation. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems related to garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, front-end loaders, and heavy-duty equipment. Prior experience operating various types of trucks including front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
