If you enjoy taking valves from teardown to final test and want variety between shop work and on-site service, this role puts you at the center of refinery and industrial plant reliability. Why this opportunity? Work on relief, control, and manual valves that keep critical operations online Split your week between precision shop work and field service during turnarounds/outages Be the pro customers trust—communicating progress and technical insights along the way What you'll do Diagnose, repair, rebuild, calibrate, and test industrial valves end-to-end Disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble to spec; document findings and actions Read and apply work orders, specifications, and technical documents Operate test benches and auxiliary tools safely and accurately Support field repairs and testing during plant turnarounds and planned outages Coordinate job setup, scheduling, and follow-through to meet timelines Engage professionally with customers and plant personnel on status and technical matters Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly Rotate through a 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency response Follow all safety procedures and champion best practices When & how you'll work
Shift:
6am-4:30pm (some overtime may be required)
Pay:
$18.00-$25.00/hr
DOE Travel:
About 50% with periodic overnights What you bring At least 2 years of valve technician or similar mechanical experience in refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial plants Turnaround/shutdown experience in plant settings strongly preferred Proven troubleshooting talent and industrial equipment repair background Ability to independently disassemble and rebuild valves Valid driver's license required Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and random testing requirements Detail orientation, organization, and safety-first mindset Self-directed with minimal supervision; strong productivity habits Professional communication and customer service skills Basic computer proficiency High School Diploma or GED Bonus points Machining background Welding or fabrication capability Experience in power generation or petrochemical maintenance Familiarity with testing/operating pressure relief or control valve systems Technical strengths we value Mechanical troubleshooting Maintenance and repair Mechanical assembly Mechanical systems & component repair Blueprint reading
