GED Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. The Automotive Technician will play a crucial role in our service department, performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. We are looking for technicians of all levels to service our client's cars. Technicians with experience at German car dealers and luxury automotive shops are highly desired.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements, according to manufacturer specifications. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components. Utilize diagnostic equipment and software toidentifyand troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately and efficiently. Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests toidentifyand address anyadditionalmaintenance or repair needs. Follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines and procedures for warranty and recall repairs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Maintainaccurateand detailed records of work performed on vehicles, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings. Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to explain recommended repairs and provide estimates for labor and parts costs. Assistwith training and mentoring junior technicians and apprentices as needed. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance and repairtasks, andensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Examine vehicles for both safety and maintenance items. Notify other servicepersonnelif work cannot be completed as promised. Keep up to date on manufacturer training and certifications. Understand and follow all state and federal regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardouswastes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive technology preferred. Minimum of [insert number] years of experience as an automotive technician, with a strong understanding of automotive systems and components. Certification from National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) preferred. Proficiencyin using diagnostic equipment and software, including scan tools and manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilemaintainingquality and accuracy. Able to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Ability to work some Saturdays. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
