TECHNICAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Summary:

The Technical Service Technician will be assisting in Service Department Processes and will be responsible for the parts and service of all strapping systems. This position requires electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventative maintenance on strapping machines and tools. This position requires working with a variety of industrial power including 480V/ 240V three phase A/C supply voltage. 120V single phase A/C voltage and 24V DC systems. This position will include travel to customer locations both locally and nationally occasionally requiring air travel and overnight stays, some international travel may be required as the position progresses. This position will work directly with senior members of the service team and report directly to the Service Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

• Repair strapping tools and machines.
• Answer troubleshooting phone calls/ customer questions.
• Verify that tool and machine orders are filled correctly.
• Assist territory managers and customer service in specifying tools and machines for various strapping applications
• Verify parts shipments received and put parts into proper locations
• Perform service calls at customer locations.
• Answer customer calls regarding parts selection, ordering and pricing.
• Pull parts and new tool orders for customer orders.
• Assemble new tool kits for future new tool orders.
• Set up new equipment for pre shipment/ testing.
• Log in all tools and machines received for return or repair.
• Evaluate and test all tool and machine returns and assign warehouse location.
• Analyze new and existing tools and machines performance and make recommendation to supplier.
• Complete tool estimates and repairs in a timely manner.
• Assist with tool and machine training.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Minimum Position Qualifications
• Moderate level of mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use and read a multi-meter
• Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical diagrams
• Valid driver license
• Travel (local and national) up to 50%

$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
