Fusion Splicer Service Technician - New Jersey About the

Role:

Join a leading fiber optics equipment manufacturer supporting telecom carriers and contractors across North America. This role focuses on the repair, calibration, and maintenance of fusion splicers and related test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and service fusion splicers (primary focus), OTDRs, and test equipment Perform calibration and optical alignment per specifications Handle RMA units: inspect, repair, test, and return within timelines Maintain service logs and documentation in internal systems Communicate repair status and technical findings to customers Support inventory and quality control processes Provide occasional remote/on-site technical support

Qualifications:

Experience with fusion splicers (OTDR experience a plus) Knowledge of fiber optics, splicing, and network infrastructure Strong troubleshooting and electro-mechanical repair skills Basic electrical knowledge and hand tools experience Good communication and customer-facing ability Associate's degree in Electronics/Electrical field or equivalent experience
