Field Generator Service Technician (Rock Hill)

Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is currently seeking aa Field Generator Service Technician for a direct hire role with one of our large manufacturing clients. The incumbent will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company engines and power generation equipment and components. This position is based out of Rock Hill, SC, and requires living in the area. •Relocation is available•

Duties:

Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of engine and electrical related system transfer switches, and switchgear. Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts. Interpret technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams. Diagnose the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preference given to candidates with 5 years electrical power generation/electronics experience with a minimum of 3 years' experience on CAT diesel and natural gas engines and/or like competitive equipment including up to 480 volts. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to pass an extensive background check. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Typically, not gone more than 2-3 days at a time

Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials. Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting. Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment. Must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts. The employee must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to lift varied weight. Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
