Job Description

I. POSITION SUMMARY
The position ensures accurate consumer billing by timely reading of member meters. Processes reconnects, disconnects, change-outs, trouble orders in accordance with established policies.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS A.
Reports to: Meter Services Manager
III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES A.
Reads residential and commercial meters on assigned route as needed. Verifies meter number, reading of dials, multiplier, if applicable, status of account, rate class and location. B. Completes connect, disconnect and reconnect orders, meter changes, general service orders, TWACS and non-pay orders. C. Responds to member questions and reports service problems to appropriate cooperative personnel. D. Installs, reconnects and disconnects Remote Disconnect Collars (RDC). E. Performs read-out, read-in meters for out-going and incoming accounts. F. Inspects existing service facilities to determine unauthorized connections, investigates and reports irregularities to the appropriate Magic Valley personnel. Takes necessary corrective action as directed. G. Inspects meters, loops and service wires for any hazardous condition and reports to appropriate supervisor. H. Assumes responsibility for vehicle, tools and equipment assigned. Maintains vehicle and makes sure that vehicle is stocked with proper material. I. Assists Lineman in restoring electric service while on-call. J. Observes all safety rules. The Meter Service Technician shall be required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.
