JOB SUMMARY

• :•Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of durable medical equipment in multiplefacilities.

Works independently under the direction of the Program Manager.

• _

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

_

• :•+ Contributes to the success of UTMB Correctional Managed Care.

+ Responsible for selecting and ordering equipment and ensuring equipment delivery to the facility and appropriate users. + Tests and maintains equipment to ensure proper functionality. + Assist with basic preventative and corrective maintenance tasks and performs maintenance repairs on wheelchairs. + Assembles, adjusts, and repairs manual wheelchairs and rollators. + Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department. + Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• + Ability to read and interpret instructions. + Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, walk, climb, reach, and regularly and occasionally lift 0-100 lbs. + Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel. + Proficient in basic hand and power tools. + Demonstrated competencies

EQUIPMENT

• :•+ Equipment, tools and materials associated with the specialized field.

Standard office equipment. + Proper safety and precaution must be closely observed when operating and repairing specialized equipment and systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• :•+ Standard clinic environment.

May be required to work within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. + May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing & non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications and disoriented or combative patients or others. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
