JOB DUTIES
Deliver top-tier automotive repair and maintenance services, leveraging advanced diagnostic skills, technical expertise, and GM-specific training to perform complex vehicle repairs, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Work with service advisors and parts personnel to ensure timely and accurate vehicle service. Maintain detailed repair records. Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency in accordance with dealership and GM standards. Diagnose and repair complex drivability, performance, and electrical issues on GM vehicles, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and computer system programming. Utilize specialized service tools and advanced diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve the complicated repair orders. Serve as a mentor to apprentices and guide them on optional repair procedures and best practices. Collaborate with service advisors and fellow technicians to ensure top-tier customer satisfaction. Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technology and GM service trends through ongoing GM training and certification programs. Take lead on warranty claims with GM to help bypass the approval process with GM to expedite warranty work for our customers. Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment. Complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work. Assist the Fixed ops director by interviewing new Service Technicians for the shop. Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Associate's degree in Automotive Technology
GM ASEP. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of experience as Automotive Master Technician.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma plus seven (7) years of experience as Automotive Master Technician.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must hold GM World Class Master Technician Certification. The experience must have involved work on General Motors vehicles. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
