6/22/2026 5:00 PM Employment Opportunity Under general supervision of a Public Services Technician Crew Leader, Field Supervisor, and the Streets Division Manger. This position is responsible for performing specialized duties related to road construction and maintenance. Constructs and repairs roadways including reconstruction, overlaying, leveling, trench patching, potholes and other roadway projects. Operates light and heavy equipment and a wide variety of hand and power tools. Performs general maintenance on equipment and tools. Equipment includes but is not limited to: Loader, grader, backhoe, roller, paver, dump truck, track hoe excavator, snow plow, salt spreader and various hand equipment related to road construction and maintenance. Operates a plow and salt spreader during snow and ice control operations. Is responsible for maintaining an assigned route. Responsible for responding to emergency operations in a reasonable time. Assists in supervising and training seasonal and flexible employees. Operates a computer and handheld devices and various programs. Required to know basic functions of GIS, and Elements (Novotx) software. Will gather data and work with GIS/GPS information. Must work the days and hours necessary to perform responsibilities. Begins and ends work on time. Must be available to respond to calls as needed after regular working hours. Maintains the proper Utah commercial driver license required for the position. Will observe traffic regulations, follow City policy, and be a safe, courteous and responsible driver while operating City vehicles. Qualifications Must possess and maintain a Class B Utah commercial drivers license (CDL) with tanker endorsement. Requires graduation from high school or equivalent. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques involved in reconstruction, overlaying, leveling, trench patching, potholes and other roadway projects. Experience with appropriate tools and equipment used in asphalt work and the operation of light and heavy equipment for road construction and maintenance. Knowledge and skills in asphalt work, placement, raking, compaction, including achieving proper grades and slope. Ability to operate a variety of construction and specialized equipment. Required to obtain and maintain UDOT Flagger Certification. Pay and Benefits Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
