Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity The Orem Public Works Department is currently hiring for a Public Works Technician in the Parks section. This is a full-time, benefited position working under direction of a Public Works Field Supervisor. Technicians are responsible for performing specialized duties related to the maintenance of parks and parkways, with an emphasis in landscaping and sprinkler repair. This position also operates light and some heavy equipment, and a variety of hand tools related to the Parks Section. Saturday and evening work may be required as needed. Qualifications High School graduation or equivalent. One (1) year related park maintenance and/or landscaping experience, or equivalent training and education. Must obtain CDL and pesticide application license within six (6) months of hire. Pay and Benefits Starting salary typically starts at the lower end, depending on qualifications and certifications. New hires with previous comparable experience may be placed higher than Public Works Technician I, Entry, depending on previous experience, qualifications, and certifications.
