In this energetic role, you will be responsible for providing on-site repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. Duties Perform on-site diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment using OEM schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system troubleshooting, suspension adjustments, and air brake inspections. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment components. Diagnose electrical issues involving wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, and control modules; perform electrical repairs as needed. Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures; assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate machinery. Maintain detailed service records, parts inventories, and repair logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance or upgrades. Experience Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician in dealership settings or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, HVAC systems, and tire service. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems in heavy machinery and farm equipment. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, suspension components, air brakes, alignment procedures, and power tools usage. Prior experience working with Caterpillar or OEM machinery is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
