Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work on equipment such as service truck and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in heavy equipment. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake systems. Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential problems. Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects. Operate heavy equipment as needed for testing and diagnostics. Weld components as necessary to ensure structural integrity. Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts. Dismantles and resembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools. Operates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects. Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance. Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment. Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Fits bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul equipment. Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs. Examines parts for damage and excessive wear. Performs a full range of skilled Diesel and Gas automotive repair work, such as minor tune-ups, electrical system servicing, and engine overhauls. Inspects automotive equipment to determine the corrective action necessary. Repairs automotive equipment. Instructs operators in the proper operation and servicing of their equipment. Operates and maintains automotive shop equipment. Performs minor welding and brazing work. Keeps records and creates reports pertaining to repairs performed. •The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role. Proficiency in automotive repair, including experience with hydraulics and electrical systems. Familiarity with air brake systems and HVAC systems is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license; additional certifications related to heavy equipment operation are a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
