  • Full-time Field Service Technician Coalmont Engineering is seeking Field Service Technicians to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Field Service Engineering Technician will be responsible for executing Field Service projects by directly contributing to electrical troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning various industrial control and automation systems including drive systems, control panels, PLC and Robotics programming, troubleshooting, power transmission and distribution, and occasional project management for heavy industry projects. The position requires hands-on shop and field experience to work both independently and within a team to successfully complete projects based on sound engineering practices, customer specifications, and expectations. This position is an opportunity to be exposed to an extremely diverse set of applications, technologies, and processes, with the expectation to grow in depth of skills and professionally.

PREFERRED DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS IN SEVERAL AREAS
Industrial machinery and automation process experience: Experience with the design, troubleshooting, and respective code requirements of various industrial control and safety systems.
Electrical control panel troubleshooting:
Competency in the use of various electrical meters, meggers, hi-pots, and oscilloscopes. Industrial communication protocols, fiber optics, and instrumentation networks: Understanding of various industrial Ethernet/IP and Profinet network designs. AC and/or
DC Drives and Motors:
Experience with the installation, tuning, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various drive systems. Can demonstrate an understanding of drive design, control algorithms, and regulators.
Low and Medium Voltage Power Systems:
Can demonstrate an understanding of 3-phase power systems, transformers, protection, and
NEC/NFPA
code principles. Knowledge of various electrical schematics and drawings.
Programming:
Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, DCS Systems, HMI's etc. Knowledge of relevant safety and design standards: NFPA, NEC, and others
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Self-starter with attention to detail and a strong motivation to assist clients in solving complex electrical problems. Leadership abilities and is willing to contribute as needed to the benefit of the team. Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar. Solid fundamental electrical and/or control systems troubleshooting knowledge. +3 years relevant experience. Creative problem solver with a customer-based perspective. Solid interpersonal skills to work with clients and colleagues. Willingness to work in a dynamic environment serving a wide range of client needs. •
Travel Note:
Coalmont thrives as an Engineering company rooted in strong fundamentals. This allows us to confidently commit to the successful completion of almost any electrical and mechanical projects our customers require. Because of this, Coalmont focuses on delivering exceptional engineering to repeat customers usually within a few hours of driving time, but occasional travel is sometimes required (usually less than a few days). Field Service Technicians will receive a company vehicle and a company credit card for approved purchases while in the field.
