Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Position Summary The Communications Specialist/Fine Arts Center Technician supports the district communications team's efforts to inform, engage, and connect with stakeholders including students, families, staff, and the community. This role is responsible for helping create and manage content and assisting in telling the story of the district. Key Responsibilities Develop and help manage content for the district website, social media platforms, and digital communications Write and edit a variety of materials, including news stories, blog posts, media releases, and event promotions Capture and produce photo and video content to highlight district programs, events, and achievements Collaborate with schools and departments to promote initiatives, events, and student success stories Maintain a consistent district voice and brand across all platforms Support communication campaigns for district-wide initiatives, programs, and celebrations Assist academic departments, student organizations, and community partners with live event coverage, including athletics, fine arts, and special events Assist other members of the Pointer Media and FAC staff throughout the year as needed Coordinate with community partners and support recognition efforts Provide technical assistance as needed throughout the district Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail Experience managing social media platforms and digital content In-depth photography skills required Experience in photo editing software (Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop) required Basic video production skills preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams Preferred Skills Familiarity with content management systems and social media Graphic design experience using platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva Understanding of branding and storytelling strategies Physical Requirements• Ability to stand for long periods of time Bend, stoop, reach, squat, climb, work overhead In-district and out-of-district travel •Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
