This role includes a mix of hands-on tasks such as setting up new connections, identifying and resolving issues, and performing routine service activities in the field. The position requires the ability to work in different environments, follow instructions, and complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You will be involved in day-to-day operations that help maintain network functionality and ensure consistent service for customers. This is a W-2 position offering stable, ongoing work and the opportunity to be part of an expanding telecommunications environment. Responsibilities Complete fiber splicing tasks to establish and maintain reliable connections within the network Install and set up telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and related hardware Perform cable installation, routing, and basic construction work required for network deployment Utilize standard field tools to test connections and verify signal integrity Identify and resolve service issues affecting network performance, including wiring and connectivity problems Record work performed, materials used, and job details according to company procedures Coordinate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with safety guidelines Experience Prior experience with fiber splicing, network installation, or field service in telecommunication environments is preferred. Knowledge of Cisco routers, Ethernet networking, telephony systems, and cabling practices is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with hand tools, mechanical assembly, and electrical systems is essential. Service technician experience within the telecommunication or broadband industry is advantageous. Familiarity with low voltage wiring, electrical troubleshooting, and use of testing devices such as ohmmeters is a plus. Strong understanding of computer networking principles including Ethernet protocols and network security fundamentals. Ability to work independently in the field with mechanical knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure components. This role requires a proactive individual with technical expertise in fiber optics and networking who can deliver reliable service while maintaining safety standards on-site.
