Job Type:
Contract / Part-Time About the Role Note•personal EV/fast-charge-capable hybrid car ownership preferred. OhmNow is looking for a reliable and technically minded EV Charging Station Technician to help maintain and service charging infrastructure in the Bay Area. In this contract-based, part-time role, you will be our boots on the ground, ensuring our network operates smoothly so EV drivers always have a dependable place to charge. This position requires you to travel between local sites, perform routine inspections, troubleshoot hardware, and test charging sessions using your personal electric vehicle.
Key Responsibilities Site Inspections & Maintenance:
Conduct routine physical inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic cleaning of EV charging stations across the Bay Area metro area.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve Tier 1 hardware, software, and connectivity issues on-site.
Component Replacement:
Perform modular repairs, such as replacing damaged cables, holsters, or screens as directed by the engineering team.
System Testing:
Initiate and monitor live charging sessions using your personal EV to verify equipment functionality and network connectivity.
Reporting:
Accurately document all service visits, repairs, and escalated technical issues using our field management software.
Required Qualifications EV Ownership:
Preferred Technical Aptitude:
Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical systems and a willingness to learn specific charging hardware.
Independence:
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage your own schedule and work autonomously in the field.
Mobility:
Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications EVSE Experience:
Prior experience working as an Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) technician is highly preferred.
Certifications:
Background in electrical work, networking, or general field service repairs.
NFPA 70E
