Drop bury hand Technical Networking Technicians Colorado Springs, CO Job Details Contract $992.41 - $2,500.00 a week 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Drop Bury Hand to join our telecommunications and construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently burying fiber optic cables and other low voltage wiring underground, ensuring the integrity of telecommunication infrastructure. Your expertise will help facilitate reliable network connectivity for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize heavy equipment, and contribute to critical IT infrastructure projects that keep communities connected. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, trenchers, and power tools to excavate trenches for cable installation Bury fiber optic cables, telecommunication lines, and cabling systems according to schematics and technical specifications Use hand tools and power tools to prepare trenches, install conduits, and secure cables in compliance with safety standards Perform fiber splicing and connect cables to ensure optimal network performance Climb poles or structures as needed for cable placement or maintenance tasks Follow detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to accurately execute burying operations Conduct inspections of buried lines and ensure proper coverage, safety measures, and adherence to project timelines Skills Proven experience in field service, heavy equipment operation, and construction environments Proficiency with bucket trucks, power tools, hand tools, and climbing techniques Knowledge of telecommunication systems including fiber splicing, cabling, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), telephony, and electrical experience Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to network infrastructure Strong understanding of low voltage wiring standards and electrical safety protocols Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as network infrastructure, computer networking concepts, and schematics Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues in the field effectively Physical capability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions This role is essential for maintaining the backbone of modern communication networks.
