We are hiring an experienced MDU Rewire Technician with a strong background in the cable industry , specifically coax‑based systems . This position focuses on rewiring and upgrading multi‑dwelling unit (MDU) properties in the Springfield and Worcester regions. This is a field‑based role for technicians who can work independently and maintain high standards. You must have your own reliable work truck/van and a complete set of coax tools. Duties Complete full coax rewires in MDU buildings (attics, basements, risers, utility rooms) Replace and upgrade coax drops, splitters, taps, grounding blocks, and connectors Rebuild risers and distribution points to improve signal quality and reliability Troubleshoot RF issues including ingress, egress, noise, and level imbalances Test and balance coax lines using the XM2 meter Route, secure, label, and dress coax cabling to Durotech's workmanship standards Coordinate access with property managers and residents Follow all Durotech, OSHA, NEC, and Xfinity safety procedures Requirements 3+ years of cable industry experience , with strong coax background Solid understanding of RF signal flow, splitters, taps, grounding, bonding, and coax plant design Proven experience with MDU rewires, riser work, and retrofits Ability to work in tight spaces, heights, and older building structures Professional communication and customer‑facing skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record Required Equipment Your own reliable work truck or van Your own full coax tool set , including: Compression tools Coring tools Strippers Toners and probes XM2 meter (required) Ladders Safety gear Ability to maintain your vehicle and tools in safe, professional condition. Preferred Skills Basic fiber knowledge (not required) Familiarity with NEC codes and grounding/bonding standards Ability to work independently and maintain Durotech‑level workmanship Strong attention to detail and pride in your craft.
