Fiber Splicer

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Fiber Splicer to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables to ensure high-quality data transmission and network reliability. Your expertise in fiber splicing, telecommunication infrastructure, and heavy equipment operation will be essential to delivering seamless connectivity solutions. Duties Perform precise fiber splicing using specialized tools and techniques to connect fiber optic cables efficiently and accurately. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and other construction machinery safely during installation and maintenance tasks. Install, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunication cabling including fiber optics, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and low voltage systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and network diagrams to guide installation processes. Climb utility poles or structures safely while adhering to safety protocols for telephony, electrical systems, and low voltage wiring. Use hand tools and power tools to prepare cables, connectors, and enclosures for splicing or repair work. Conduct routine inspections of network infrastructure, document work performed, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Qualifications Proven experience in field service roles involving fiber splicing, cabling, or telecommunication infrastructure. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and effectively. Strong knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques and tools. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN, Ethernet, WAN, and IT infrastructure components. Experience working with schematics, technical diagrams, and construction plans related to network installation projects. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing devices. Physical ability to climb structures or poles regularly while maintaining safety standards. Construction background or electrical experience is highly desirable for understanding complex wiring systems. Pay:

$80,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
